About Beatriz Coningham
Beatriz Coningham has studied and worked in different countries in Latin America, North America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Her educational background includes English and Portuguese languages and literature, teaching English as a foreign language, psychology, and human resource development. Beatriz started her professional life as a teacher of English as a foreign language in Brazil, where she grew up. While living in the state of Mato Grosso, she co-founded and led a private language school, which offered her deep exposure to entrepreneurship. Her experiences in recruiting, training, and developing teams for her own business led her to gradually transition into organizational development and human resources. In 2003, Beatriz relocated to Washington, DC to pursue a doctorate degree in Human Resource Development at the George Washington University. Since then, she has worked in executive leadership positions in the non-profit sector for NCQA, a healthcare quality organization, RTI International, an independent research institute with projects in over 40 countries, and for PADF, an international development organization working in 22 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. As Founder and President of HabilisGlobal, Beatriz is leveraging her experience in leadership development, organizational learning and change to consult for organizations who want to build or reimagine their capabilities, scale up, go global, or improve their overall effectiveness.
