Liz Volk

Liz Volk, Vice President of Human Resources at Longo Brothers Fruit Markets, believes that an organization’s results are achieved through highly engaged teams delivering on a clearly defined customer strategy. A CHRE, Liz has acquired over 25 years of experience working in fast paced, multi-unit retail environments since graduating from the University of Western. She joined the Longo’s team in 2006 with a mandate to develop a long-term people strategy aligned to the company’s strategic plan. In 2014, she embarked on an assignment in Operations to fully understand and experience the business from a customer and team member perspective. The past 12 years of growth has been an exciting journey requiring innovation in areas such as total rewards, talent acquisition, learning & development as well as the unveiling of the organization’s “blue print”.

Longo’s was started by Tommy, Joe and Gus Longo in 1956. Longo’s currently has 33 stores including 6 urban format stores, “The Market by Longo’s”, operates Canada’s largest on-line grocer, Grocery Gateway and employs over 6,000 team members.
