The ROI Institute, Inc., has acquired the Center for Talent Reporting, according to a November 14 press release. CTR’s mission to develop new standards for measuring, managing and reporting on human capital will fuse with ROI’s model for consulting and supporting organizations on their journey to success through the measurement of financial ROI.
CTR was created in 2012 to promote the Talent Development Reporting Principles, launched two years prior in October 2010. ROI Institute was founded in 1992, and works with more than 6,000 organizations in 70 countries.
ROI Institute CEO Patti P. Phillips said in the press release that ROI’s work overlaps well with CTR’s, making the recent acquisition an exciting development for both enterprises. “ROI Institute’s purchase of CTR assets will benefit both our customers and CTR members,” Phillips said. By leveraging CTR’s products on a global scale, ROI can “further help the human capital management community tell the story of value in terms that matter most to the decision-makers.”
CTR Executive Director David Vance and Assistant Director Peggy Parskey said in the press release that they are both excited about the acquisition and its potential to forward the work and legacy they have created at CTR. By providing a home for TDRp’s industry-led initiative to enhance the human capital field with reporting standards such as learning, leadership development, capability, management, performance management and total rewards, CTR has fostered a thriving hub for measurement and reporting professionals.
ROI chairman Jack Phillips, who was an original member of the executive council that brought TDRp to life, and Patti Phillips are longtime supporters of CTR, and share a passion for measurement that echoes the TDRp framework, according to a special announcement posted on CTR’s homepage.
On November 2, CTR’s Board of Directors voted to accept ROI’s offer for its intellectual property, entering a new phase of its long-standing partnership with the institute. Vance and Parskey said they are thrilled to see the organization enter such a strong partnership; they will continue sharing their thought leadership through ROI Institute.
“I am very happy to share that ROI Institute, led by Patti and Jack Phillips, will acquire the assets of the Center for Talent Reporting and become the new home for Talent Development Reporting Principles (TDRP),” Vance said in an emailed statement.
Vance and Parskey “will remain active in the effort to establish TDRP as the common language and framework for the measurement, reporting and management of human capital,” Vance said. “We will continue to offer TDRp webinars and Measurement Demystified workshops as part of the ROI Institute’s offerings and look forward to reaching an even broader audience.”
Beginning January 1, 2024, CTR products and content will be accessible through ROI Institute’s online interface.
